It’s been a while since I took the time to write about life. I’ll admit, despite all the polls I ran on my old blog asking what my readers wanted me to write about most, and the overwhelming response in favor of “personal posts/about me” (that won against giveaways!), the majority of my posts are not all that personal. I think I’m about due for one now, so I’ll let you in on what’s been going on around here.
Three big things have been occupying most of my time since we returned home from Boston. For one thing, I’m in the process of redecorating my room. I’ve stripped the walls of three very large Lord of the Rings posters (there used to be more), and threw my old, dirty bulletin board in the trash. Over the next few weeks I’m planning to install a new cork board (I am lost without one!), situate a couple of air-filtering house plants on top of bookcases, and fill the empty wall space with a floral photo collage, new poster, and some other inspiring photography and/or artwork. I’m also going to add a third bookshelf to my room, as I’ve pretty much filled the other two to capacity, and maybe get a new desk chair as mine is ancient and completely falling apart… but I’m not sure about that one yet. My room will be pretty crammed, but it will be much more functional, and less depressing sans Aragorn staring down from his black frame holding a sword in front of his face. *Hehem* Cheerier landscape photos await! I don’t think I’ve ever given you all a photo tour of my room, but I promise to do so once everything is in place!
Yesterday, Mom and I headed over to Kohl’s in search of a photo collage frame and found the perfect one on sale–made out of renewable mango wood!
On our way to the home decór section, I snagged a fedora from the men’s department. (Men’s fedoras are much better made and are really no different from women’s fedoras, except for the fabric used to make them, which is usually more subdues in color and of a higher quality.) I couldn’t resist; it was 50% off!
I am preparing to launch a new blog in short order. I’ve been working on it since December of last year, and have been keeping it under wraps until now. Be looking out for the launch announcement sometime in August. I’ll leave you to guess what type of a blog it’s going to be until then.
Meanwhile I am busy, busy, busy writing my heart out. In addition to blogging here, I have resumed my weekly Beautiful You column at Feelin’ Feminine and monthly contributions to the Challenging Femininity webzine. I’m also pre-writing posts for the new blog, and am hoping to begin submitting articles to some other websites soon (if I can find the time!). I have been fiddling with the idea of writing a book, but don’t see how I can possibly fit it into my already packed writing schedule, so for now that idea is being placed on the back burner.
That’s all for now! I hope you are having a glorious summer. It’s approximately twenty degrees too hot to call the weather here glorious, but I have been managing to brave the sweltering conditions and massive cicadas every evening at around eight-thirty to go for a walk. Thank God for the day and the night! Blessings to you all!
“God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.” {Genesis 1:5}

Glad your summer is going well! I’m glad you’re taking time to enjoy nature in the evenings-the best time for heat avoider’s like me! (yes, i think i just made that word up)
Blessings,
Katheirne
